Reading is very important to me, something I have loved to do since childhood. I’ve been tracking my yearly reading since 2008.
Due to all of the stressful events in 2019 I didn’t focus on reading as much as I have in previous years. I only read 25 books in 2019. My Goal was 70.

I usually pick a favorite new author but I don’t think that would be fair this year because I truly do not remember enough about the 5-star books to pick one, just know that a 5-star rating from me is top notch — I would read that book again, and read more by that author.
I have a new goal of 50 books for 2020.
Do you enjoy reading? Do you set a reading goal each year?
Read and Roar!!!
Great list.. reading 25 is a herculean task in itself. All da best for 2020
Appreciate that Urvashi. 25 is really low for me (less than half++) but I recognize why this year and that is what counts – will do better next year!
I love to read but I don’t set goals for how many I am going to read anymore. I am trying to finish writing and editing my first novel. However, if I did make a list, it would be of the classics. I have always wanted to finish the list of the 100 best books. Good luck on your goal this year!
Congrats on writing your first novel, how exciting (publishing my writings is on my list). I downloaded a bunch of classics a couple years ago from that list I believe – still need to read them!
I love to read and read A LOT and listen to a lot of audio books. Fiction, non-fiction, business, inspiration, how to… I love it all. I never thought of a reading goal but last year my hubby tracked his reading and kept notes on the books he read. I love that you did this too. Great way to remember and be able to celebrate what I did read.
Awesome on reading! I’ve never tried an Audio book – I think I’d get distracted! Cool about your Hubby – is he using Goodreads? I love that site, super easy to track things instead of writing it down 🙂
WOW 25 is 24 more books than I read! I can’t seem to get into reading much anymore other than reading to my great grandbaby. I really hope I can get back to ready a bit more, I use to enjoy books. Congratulations on your 25 and now on to your 50!
I’ve found it takes a conscious effort to get back into reading after I haven’t done it for a length of time. Maybe a small step of 15 minutes reading a day would work for you?
i do read a lot and need to check back to see how many i read.. though a big portion that make up the numbers for me is kids lit 🙂
i have not however read any of the books on your list.. so i should check out the 5/5 ones
I like using Goodreads to keep track of my books, super easy!
